Gartex Texprocess India 2024: Ushering in Innovation and Sustainability

The 10th edition of Gartex Texprocess India is poised to kick off at Yasha Bhoomi (IICC), Dwarka, Delhi, from August 1 to 3, 2024. Renowned as the country’s largest and most comprehensive trade show in garment and textile machinery manufacturing, this event promises an array of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices.

Gartex Texprocess India 2024 will feature over 200 exhibitors, including 25 new participants, showcasing more than 600 brands and unveiling 15+ new products. The event will attract a diverse group of industry stakeholders, including government officials, representatives from leading textile associations, C-suite executives, industry experts, and innovators. Attendees will include denim mill owners, fabric brands, digital and screen-printing brands, and knitting and accessories brands, among others.

Recognizing the water-intensive nature of textile and denim manufacturing, several exhibitors are emphasizing sustainability. Participating brands are adopting measures such as utilizing solar energy and converting dyed waste into yarn, aiming to significantly reduce water consumption. These initiatives reflect a commitment to a larger goal of sustainable manufacturing.

The show floor will feature both home-grown Indian and international brands, with a focus on sustainability-driven products. Visitors can expect to see T-shirts, tags, and threads made from recycled plastic bottles, leftover cotton, and garment waste. Certified products by Oeko-Tex, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), and ZDHC Level-3 will be highlighted, promoting a more sustainable future. Additionally, sublimation paper products made from 65% recycled fiber sourced from industrial residues will be showcased, offering a 28% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional sublimation papers.

A noteworthy exhibit will be a garment processing and finishing machinery brand presenting a machine that enables an ultra-low liquor ratio of 1:3 for washing and dyeing, substantially conserving water and energy and reducing water treatment costs.

In the realm of IT technology, an innovative IT-tech brand will display software that allows users to monitor the carbon footprint of textile and apparel products, along with their energy consumption and other environmental impacts. This technology empowers manufacturers to make more informed and sustainable decisions.

Furthermore, a garment cutting-room automation brand will demonstrate advanced CAD/CAM software and hardware solutions. These include garment CAD software, a vertical inkjet cutter plotter, and automatic fabric spreading and cutting machines. These technologies offer a significant fabric saving of 3 to 5% compared to other nesting technologies, contributing to more efficient and sustainable production processes.
