Hello Guys
We are running Wincc Open architecture 3.15 (server) and we have some windows clients connecting to the system. We experiencing that some times the clients do not free up the licenses at server when they quit (IE Power loss (on client), bluescreen (on client), Freeze (on client).
Is there any way to free up stalled licenses without restarting the project?
Error message at client should also be different, it says Cannot register project: PA_E_CONFIG_PROJ_VERSION_NOT_FOUND : Installdir: C:/Users/%username%/.wincc_oa-cache
Initialization via http server failed

Hello,
We understand you're experiencing issues with WinCC OA 3.15 where client disconnections (due to power loss, crashes, or freezes) are not releasing licenses on the server, and clients receive a "PA_E_CONFIG_PROJ_VERSION_NOT_FOUND" error.
Unfortunately, WinCC OA 3.15 doesn't have a direct, built-in mechanism to forcibly release stalled licenses without a project restart. However, you can try the following:
WCCILdata and WCCILevent tasks on the server may free up some licenses, however this will cause a brief interruption to those services. Avoid restarting the entire project if possible. This error often indicates a client-side caching issue. Try these steps on the affected clients:
C:/Users/%username%/.wincc_oa-cache directory. For further assistance and detailed troubleshooting steps, please refer to the Siemens Support website: Siemens Support and search for relevant KBs regarding license management and connection issues in WinCC OA.
