Hi Expert,
Is it possible to connect 3 LOGO 8 to one KTP400 HMI? How do I collect the data from one LOGO to another?
Thanks in advance

Connecting Multiple LOGO 8 PLCs to a KTP400 HMI & Data Transfer

Yes, it's possible to connect up to 32 LOGO! 8 PLCs to a single KTP400 HMI using S7 communication. However, direct connection isn't automatic; configuration is required in both the LOGO!Soft Comfort software and the KTP400.

Connecting LOGO! 8 to KTP400

  1. LOGO! Configuration: Enable S7 communication on each LOGO! 8 via LOGO!Soft Comfort (Network -> S7 Communication). Define the LOGO! as a "Server".
  2. KTP400 Configuration: In the KTP400's HMI design software, add S7 connections for each LOGO! 8. Specify the IP address and TSAP of each LOGO! "Server".
  3. Data Tag Access: Within the KTP400, create tags linked to the desired memory locations (VMs, flags, etc.) in each LOGO! 8.

Data Transfer between LOGO! 8 PLCs

Direct data exchange between LOGO! 8 PLCs is not natively supported. To transfer data from one LOGO! to another, you can use the KTP400 as an intermediary. The first LOGO! sends data to the KTP400, and the KTP400 then transmits this data to the second LOGO! through S7 communication.

Alternatively, consider using a more powerful PLC (e.g., SIMATIC S7-1200) as a central controller to manage communication and data exchange between multiple LOGO! 8 units.

Disclaimer: Ensure compatibility of firmware versions for both LOGO! 8 and KTP400 for optimal performance.
