Process Instrumentation / Analyzer Systems / Weighing Technology / Valve Positioner / MI Digital Solution: Sipart Ps2 Positioner

Hello,
I have a positioner from Emerson Fisher type DVC2000 with HART protocol. I want to use instead of this positioner an equivalent Siemens SIPART PS2 positioner. I have selected one whose catalog number is
6DR5010-0NG00-0AA0
. I have compared datasheets from both products and I confused for one this that the position ability is defined in the products` datasheets differently.
Emerson Fisher DVC2000
Stem Travel
Minimum:6.35 mm (0.25 inch)
Maximum:606 mm (23-7/8 inches)
Shaft Rotation
Minimum:45
Maximum:90
Siemens SIPART PS2
Rotation angle of the part-turn actuator :30 Degree...100 Degree
Stroke range of the linear actuator         : 3 mm...130 mm
Are these parameters corresponding to each other?
Are these products coinciding technically each other?
I am waiting your precious help.
(I have added the basic datasheets for both products)

SIPART PS2 vs. Emerson DVC2000 Compatibility

Hello, thank you for your inquiry regarding the compatibility of the Siemens SIPART PS2 (6DR5010-0NG00-0AA0) with your existing Emerson Fisher DVC2000 positioner.

You are right to compare the travel/rotation ranges. While the units differ, they can be made to correspond, but careful consideration is crucial. Here's a breakdown:

  • Linear Travel: The DVC2000 offers 6.35mm to 606mm. The SIPART PS2 provides 3mm to 130mm. The SIPART PS2’s 3-130mm range *can* accommodate the DVC2000’s 6.35-606mm, provided you select a PS2 model with appropriate stem length.
  • Rotary Travel: The DVC2000 has 45-90 degrees rotation. The SIPART PS2 offers 30-100 degrees. This is generally directly compatible.

Technical Coincidence: The products are not directly "coinciding" (1:1 replacement) without verifying the specific application requirements, particularly the stem length needed for full travel. You MUST ensure the chosen SIPART PS2 has a sufficient stroke to match the DVC2000's full range, or you'll have control limitations.

Recommendation: I strongly recommend reviewing the SIPART PS2 configuration guide and using the Siemens Valve and Actuator Sizing Tool (VAST) to confirm a suitable PS2 model based on your valve's specifications and required control characteristics. Link to Siemens VAST

Please provide your valve’s travel requirements, and I can further assist you.
