The USB/PPI Multi-Master cable is primarily designed and optimized for communication with S7-200 and S7-1200 controllers.
While it might be possible to establish communication with some older S5 controllers under specific conditions, it is not officially supported and is generally not recommended. The S5 uses a different communication protocol (PPI) and signal levels, and reliable communication is not guaranteed with this cable.
For S5 communication, a dedicated S5 PPI adapter or a PC interface with an RS-485 port and appropriate cabling is the recommended solution.
