SINAMICS general: Questions regarding Epos Code Block

Hello experts
I have a 1215C controller connected to the V90 with Profinet.
I run an EPOS block and would love to understand two things.
1. How can I assign him a new value for the location he is in?
2.Can I set a value for speed / acceleration and not in percentages? And if not I would love to know where he gets his nominal speed and acceleration?
thank you
Erez

RE: EPOS Positioning with V90 - 1215C Controller

Hello Erez,

Here's information regarding your questions about EPOS positioning with a 1215C controller and V90 drive via PROFINET:

1. Assigning a New Target Position

You can modify the target position for the EPOS block by writing a new value to the appropriate memory location configured in your EPOS parameter set. This is typically done through the PROFINET interface using cyclic data exchange or a dedicated write request. Refer to the V90 documentation ( V90 documentation) for details on memory mapping and communication protocols.

2. Speed/Acceleration Units

The EPOS block typically requires speed and acceleration values as percentages of the drive's maximum values. You cannot directly input absolute units (e.g., mm/s, m/s²). The nominal speed and acceleration are defined within the V90 drive’s parameterization.

To find where these values are set, consult the V90 parameter list within the drive's configuration tool (STAR2000). Look for parameters related to:

  • Maximum Speed
  • Acceleration Time / Ramp-Up Time
  • Deceleration Time / Ramp-Down Time

These parameters determine the 100% reference point used by the EPOS block when you provide percentage values.
