LOGO! - Software: When using a restitance 500om do I have Towards Modify the Continuous signal amplifier Towards 0-10 V?

Helo,
I have the same problem, my question is if I use a restitance 500om I have to change the Analog amplifier to 0-10 V?

Understanding Pressure Measurement & Amplifiers

Hi there,

Let's clarify your questions regarding pressure measurement and amplifiers.

1. Measuring Range Discrepancy (0-6 bar vs. 0-6000)

The software setting of 0 to 6000 likely represents the raw sensor signal (e.g., mV or counts) corresponding to the 0-6 bar range. The sensor outputs a varying signal within this range that *represents* 0-6 bar. The software then scales this raw signal to display it correctly in engineering units (bar). This is standard practice.

2. When to Use an Amplifier

You don't always need an amplifier. It depends on the sensor's output signal and the input requirements of your PLC or control system.

  • Weak Signals: If the sensor's output signal is very small (e.g., a few millivolts), an amplifier boosts it to a usable level.
  • Signal Conditioning: Amplifiers often provide signal conditioning (filtering, linearization) for improved accuracy.
  • Sensor Type: Some sensors require specific amplifier types for optimal performance.

Refer to your sensor and PLC/control system documentation to determine if an amplifier is necessary. Siemens Support Article on Analog Input Scaling provides valuable information.

Password Required for Program Download - LOGO! 8

It appears you're encountering a password prompt when downloading your program to the LOGO! 8, despite not setting one. This can occur due to several reasons:

  • User Management: LOGO! 8 firmware versions after 1.80 can have user management enabled, requiring a password even for the original creator.
  • Previous Password: A password might have been set previously and forgotten.
  • Corrupted Configuration: In rare cases, a corrupted configuration can trigger this behavior.

Here are troubleshooting steps:

  1. Attempt Default Password: Try using "0000" or "1234" as a password – these are often default values.
  2. Check User Management: In LOGO!Soft Comfort V8, navigate to Tools > Transfer > Access Control. Verify if user accounts are configured and if a password is required for download.
  3. Factory Reset (Caution!): As a last resort, a factory reset of the LOGO! 8 will remove any password protection, but it will erase your program. See the LOGO! 8 manual for instructions.

If you continue to experience issues, please provide the exact steps you are taking to download the program, and we can investigate further.

Analog Input & Resistance Change - Siemens Self Support

Hello, regarding your question about using a 500 Ohm resistance with analog inputs, yes, you likely need to adjust the analog amplifier settings to the 0-10V range.

Changing the resistance impacts the input signal level. A 500 Ohm resistance will alter the voltage drop, potentially falling outside the original amplifier's calibrated range (e.g., 4-20mA).

Switching to a 0-10V input range configuration within your Siemens controller (PLC/HMI) and potentially adjusting the hardware configuration of the analog input module itself will ensure accurate readings.

For detailed instructions specific to your device, please refer to the following SiePortal resources:

If you provide the exact model number of your PLC/HMI and analog input module, I can provide more specific guidance.
