SIMODRIVE Converter system: Simodrive 611 Fault Code 7

Hi guys,
Am expiriencing a problem with a simodrive 611 controller 6SN1118-0AA11-0AA1 that's indicating an error code 7 upon starting the machine without any motion on the motor. The other module connected in the same D.C line are working well,i also checked for a machine mechanical jam but it appears free.I tried going through the Simodrive analogue start up guide in search of the current limit time with intension to extend it but i can't find it.cheers

Error 7 with Simodrive 611 - No Motion

Error 7 on a Simodrive 611 typically indicates a current limit or overcurrent condition during startup, even without apparent motor motion.

Since other modules on the same DC line work correctly and mechanical jamming is ruled out, focus on the drive parameters.

Regarding Current Limit Time:

The parameter you're likely looking for is P0700 (Current limitation time). This is found within the parameter list for controlling current limits during acceleration.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check P0700: Verify the current limitation time is appropriate for your application. Increasing it slightly might resolve the issue, but excessively high values could mask another problem.
  2. Check Motor Parameters: Confirm P0010 (Motor Nominal Current) and P0011 (Motor Peak Current) are correctly configured for your motor.
  3. Check Load: Even without a mechanical jam, a significantly higher than expected load can trigger the current limit.
  4. Wiring: Re-examine motor and encoder cables for damage or loose connections.
  5. SiePortal Resources: Refer to the Simodrive 611 documentation and FAQs on Siemens Support for detailed troubleshooting steps.

If the problem persists, providing the motor type and the load details will help in further diagnosis.
