Hi,
Can anyone tell me Difference between S7-200 PPI and S7-200 MPI protocol besides token handling?
and how to select PPI or MPI protocol in Microwin?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Paresh
Both PPI (Point-to-Point Interface) and MPI (Multi-Point Interface) are serial communication protocols for S7-200 PLCs, but differ in network topology and capabilities.
Beyond Token Handling: MPI offers increased network flexibility and allows communication with Programming Devices (PGs) without requiring dedicated connections like PPI often does. PPI is generally more robust for basic point-to-point tasks.
In Microwin, the protocol selection is done during the configuration of the serial interface (usually COM1).
