LOGO! to S7-1200 Communication Troubleshooting

Hello! Connecting a LOGO! as a client to an S7-1200 requires careful configuration. The error you're encountering suggests a communication breakdown. Here's a breakdown of common issues and solutions:

Key Configuration Points

  • LOGO! Configuration: Ensure the LOGO! is configured as a Modbus TCP client with the correct IP address of the S7-1200. Verify the port number (typically 502).
  • S7-1200 Configuration: The S7-1200 must be configured as a Modbus TCP server. This requires using the Modbus TCP server function blocks in your TIA Portal project.
  • Network Connectivity: Confirm both devices are on the same network subnet and can ping each other.
  • Firewall: Check for firewall restrictions on both the LOGO! and S7-1200, and ensure port 502 (or your configured port) is open.
