SIMATIC WinCC: Dynamic Property Towards Svg Object

Dear All,
I have taken an SVG object (i.e. Pump) .
I want to change the color of the pump dynamically. So I assigned property at "Colors--> Background Color".
But did not get any result.
-Product : Wincc v7.4 SP1
- Global Color scheme: NO
Thanks

Dynamic Color Change of SVG Object in WinCC V7.4 SP1

Dear S Prasanna D,

To dynamically change the color of an SVG object (like a pump) in WinCC V7.4 SP1, assigning the property under "Colors --> Background Color" is the correct approach. However, ensure the following:

  • Dynamic Linking: The "Background Color" property must be dynamically linked to a Tag (e.g., a color value from your PLC). Directly entering a color name will not allow dynamic changes.
  • Data Type: The Tag linked to the "Background Color" should be of a suitable data type - typically STRING representing a color in hexadecimal format (e.g., "#FF0000" for red).
  • Global Color Scheme: You've correctly noted that a Global Color Scheme being active can interfere with dynamic color assignments. Confirm it is indeed disabled.
  • Object Properties: Verify the SVG object's properties do not have any overriding color settings that take precedence.

For detailed guidance, refer to the Siemens Support article: How to change the color of a graphic object dynamically in WinCC.

If the issue persists, please provide the Tag name you are using and its current value for further assistance.

Sincerely,

Siemens Self Support
