SIMATIC S7-200: usability From Memory card Within S7 series 200

I heard somewhere that the Memory card for S7-200 can also store other files, than the program.
for instance we can download the program to the memory card for plc to use, apart from that we can also copy the PROGRAM itself, with comments, for future use, as customer tend to misplace the source code once we are out of the plant!!
also perhaps we can upload ACROBAT files, containing key drawings for the machine

S7-200 Memory Card Capabilities

Yes, the S7-200's memory card (typically a SIMATIC MMC) can store more than just the PLC program. You're correct to inquire about backup and documentation storage.

Program Backup: You can indeed copy the entire project – including the program code and all comments – to the memory card. This provides a valuable safeguard against source code loss at the customer site.

Documentation Storage: The memory card can also store other file types, such as PDF documents (like Acrobat files containing drawings). This allows key machine documentation to be kept with the PLC, improving serviceability.

Important Note: While possible, consider the memory card's capacity. Larger projects and extensive documentation will require larger capacity memory cards.
