CP 243-1 and S7-200 CPU 224XP Compatibility

Yes, the CP 243-1 communication processor can be used with the S7-200 CPU 224XP, but with certain limitations. Specifically, only CP 243-1 (6ES7 243-1AH00-0XA0) is compatible.

Important Considerations:

  • The S7-200's memory capacity restricts the functionality achievable with the CP 243-1.
  • Firmware versions must be compatible.

CP243it Email Configuration Troubleshooting

Hello Bisaya,

It's good you've confirmed basic connectivity to the server. Issues with the ETx_EMAIL subroutine often stem from configuration details. Here's a focused troubleshooting approach:

  1. Email Wizard Configuration Verification: Double-check that Mail0_0 and Mail0_1 are correctly configured *within* the CP243it's web interface. Verify SMTP server, port, authentication, and email addresses.
  2. ETx_EMAIL Subroutine Parameters: Ensure the parameters passed to the ETx_EMAIL subroutine (MailID, Subject, Body, Recipient) are accurate and within the defined limits.
  3. CP243it Firmware: Confirm you're running the latest recommended firmware for the CP243it module.
  4. Firewall: Verify that your firewall isn’t blocking outbound SMTP traffic (typically port 25, 465, or 587) from the PLC.
  5. Debugging: Use the CP243it's diagnostic tools (accessible via the web interface) to monitor the email sending process for error messages.

For detailed information and potential solutions, please refer to the following Siemens support resources:

If the problem persists, please provide the specific error messages you are observing, and the exact parameters used in your ETx_EMAIL call.

Best regards,
