G120C Drive - "Maintenance required: error in application/technological function" Alarm

The intermittent "Maintenance required: error in application/technological function / ModuleAccessPoint" alarm with G120C drives connected to a 1515 CPU via PROFINET typically indicates a temporary communication issue or a brief inconsistency in data exchange.

Possible Causes & Solutions:

  • PROFINET Configuration: Verify PROFINET configuration on both the drive and the CPU. Check for correct IP addresses, subnet masks, and device names.
  • Hardware Check: Ensure the PROFINET cable is securely connected and in good condition.
  • Cycle Time: Adjust the PROFINET cycle time. A faster cycle time can sometimes resolve intermittent issues, but consider CPU load.
  • Firmware: Confirm that both the G120C drives and the CPU have the latest firmware versions.
  • Module Access Point: This error often points to inconsistencies with the module access point settings. Double-check these settings in the drive parameters.

Resources:

If the issue persists, please provide the specific error codes (xxxxxx / xxxxx) for more targeted troubleshooting assistance. Also, share details about your PROFINET network setup.
