SIMATIC WinCC flexible: Windows control center Execution System protection

Hi all,
I am using a siemens TP 270 HMI and am having some trouble password protecting the recipe screen in WinCC Flexible 2005. I have changed the authorization under the security section to admin etc and it seems to work in runtime.
However when I try to make the changes on site I have no luck. Everytime I press the recipe view, the program prompts me for a user name as password which I enter as expected but when I go to press the recipe view again I am prompted for the user name and password again. I know the user name and password are correct but it just keeps promtping me for the details without actually allowing me to make recipe changes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or if you know of some detailed instructions on how to set a password would be great.
Thanks.

Password Protection Issue with Recipe View - TP270 & WinCC Flexible 2005

It appears you're experiencing a persistent login prompt when attempting to modify recipes on your TP270 HMI using WinCC Flexible 2005, despite correct credentials.

This issue often arises from a configuration mismatch between the HMI configuration in WinCC Flexible and the actual runtime behavior. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

  • User Rights & Recipe Access: Double-check that the user account you're using has explicit "Modify" rights for recipes within the WinCC Flexible security settings. Just being an 'Admin' isn't always sufficient; specific recipe access needs to be granted.
  • Global Security Settings: Verify the global security settings in WinCC Flexible (Options > Security). Ensure the security level is appropriate and that password prompting is correctly configured.
  • Recipe Persistence: Sometimes, a corrupted recipe file or internal HMI cache can cause this. Try clearing the HMI's cache (if possible through the HMI interface - consult the TP270 manual).
  • Download Issues: Ensure the complete project is downloaded to the HMI after making security changes. A partial download can lead to inconsistent behavior.

For detailed instructions and troubleshooting steps, refer to these resources:

  • Siemens Industry Online Support: Recipe Protection in WinCC Flexible RT Advanced
  • WinCC Flexible Documentation: Consult the WinCC Flexible 2005 documentation (available through SiePortal) for specific details on user management and security configuration.

If the issue persists, provide your WinCC Flexible project version and a detailed description of your security configuration. You can also open a support request via SiePortal for dedicated assistance.
