SIMODRIVE Converter system: Siemens Line Filter Intended For Operational Line Component (I/R) Issue

Dear All members,
Good day
we have an Siemens Line Filter for Active Line Module(I/R) ( 6SL 3000-0BE23-6AA0 ) along with HF reactor (6SN1111-0AA00-0CA1) connected to the simo drive power module ( 6SN1145-1BA02-0CA2).  3 phase 380 volts supply.
the line filter is currently burn out , so my question can we bypass the 3 phase supply 380 volts from main contactor to HF reactor as our Line filter is damaged.
if we did, can we face other problems due to this.
because due to this our plant is under breakdown and the same part will take time to deliver , in that period is it possible to run the Simo Drive power module (6SN1145-1BA02-0CA2) without Line Filter for Active Line Module(I/R).
kindly please check the attached highlighted drawing
awaiting of your valuable feedback
thank you

Bypassing Line Filter for 6SN1145-1BA02-0CA2 SIMO Drive

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your query regarding bypassing the line filter (6SL 3000-0BE23-6AA0) connected to your SIMO drive power module (6SN1145-1BA02-0CA2). Directly connecting the 380V supply to the HF reactor (6SN1111-0AA00-0CA1) without the line filter is strongly discouraged and potentially harmful.

Potential Issues:

  • Increased Harmonic Distortion: The line filter's primary function is to reduce harmonic distortion reflected back into the supply network. Bypassing it will likely cause significant harmonic currents, potentially impacting other equipment and triggering protective devices.
  • Voltage Stress: The HF reactor is designed to operate *with* the line filter. Applying direct voltage may cause overvoltage stress and damage the reactor or the drive's power module.
  • Drive Malfunction: The SIMO drive expects a filtered supply. The unfiltered voltage and current can lead to erratic operation or permanent damage to the drive.
  • Warranty Void: Modifying the system in this way will likely void the warranty.

Temporary Operation: While we understand your urgency, operating without the line filter is not a recommended solution. Consider exploring these options instead:

  • Contact Siemens for Expedited Delivery: Please Contact Siemens Support to inquire about expedited delivery of the replacement line filter.
  • Temporary Loaner Unit: Depending on availability, Siemens might be able to provide a temporary loaner line filter.

Important Note: Any modifications to the drive system should only be performed by qualified personnel. Refer to the SIMO drive documentation for detailed information on system requirements and safety precautions. You can find the documentation on SiePortal.

Sincerely,
Siemens Self Support
