SIMATIC WinCC (TIA Portal): Display Input output Condition Within Human machine interface

Hi,
Is it possible to somehow printscreen an IM station layout from HW configuration and show it on the HMI, including the status on each individual I/O.in real time? For sure it can be done by using rectangles and creating animation for the I/Os. The question is if there is a quicker way.
Thanks in advance.

Printing IM Station Layout & Real-time I/O Status on HMI

While a direct "printscreen" function isn't available, displaying the IM station layout with real-time I/O status on the HMI is achievable. Using rectangles and animations for I/Os is a valid approach, however, it can be time-consuming.

Here are a few alternatives & considerations:

  • TIA Portal Graphics: Leverage pre-designed graphic objects within TIA Portal representing your I/O modules. Animate these based on the I/O status.
  • HMI Faceplates: Create reusable faceplates for each I/O module type. These faceplates can dynamically show the module's status.
  • Symbolic Addressing: Use symbolic addressing for I/Os to simplify animation logic in the HMI.
  • Consider SiePortal: Explore Siemens' online support resources and knowledge base articles on Siemens Support for similar use cases and potential solutions.

Unfortunately, a one-click screenshot-to-HMI function doesn't currently exist. The best approach depends on the complexity of your station and desired level of detail.
