I'm preparing Logo! application for my client. His request is to have a software to upload daily datalog to his desktop. He needs simple application - just to click a button and get current datalog as .csv file.
The solution with SoftComfort tools->transfer->upload data log is not acceptable. It must be standalone application.
As I know, downloading data log via built-in web server is not possible, right?
Is such a tool available? Is it possible to create one using open source libraries eg.snap7?
You are correct; directly downloading datalogs via the built-in web server of LOGO! 8 is not possible.
Unfortunately, Siemens does not offer a standard, standalone application for directly uploading LOGO! 8 datalogs to a desktop as a .csv file with a simple button click.
Developing a custom application is the most viable option. You can achieve this using libraries like snap7 (an open-source S7 communication library) in conjunction with Python or another suitable programming language. This approach requires programming knowledge to establish communication with the LOGO! 8, read the datalog memory, and format it as a .csv file.
Important Considerations:
For further assistance with snap7 or S7 communication, please refer to the Siemens Industry Support portal.
