SIMATIC WinCC: Quality codes Data Storage Information

Hi,
I need to take the just the data with a good quality from archive database . I use vb scripts and visual basic.
Do you know wich are the quality codes of this field? I can see in the manual the quality codes for WinCC OPC HDA Server, OPC A&E... but not for this one.
Quality Integer 4 Bytes QualityCode of value (e.g. "good" or "bad").
In some examples, it is 801000 but i am not sure...
Thanks!
Best regards,
Gonzalo

Quality Codes for Archive Database Values

Gonzalo,

You are right to notice the difference in quality codes depending on the WinCC component. For the archive database (specifically when accessed via VBA/VB Script), the quality codes are different from those documented for WinCC OPC HDA/A&E.

The quality code 801000 typically represents "Good" or "Valid" data. Here's a breakdown of common quality codes used with the archive database:

  • 801000: Good/Valid - Data is considered reliable.
  • 802000: Bad/Invalid - Data is questionable or not valid.
  • 803000: Uncertain - Data source is unsure of data validity.
  • 804000: Initialization - Data is still being initialized.

For a complete list and detailed explanation of all Quality Codes, please refer to the following SiePortal Knowledge Article (requires Siemens account login):

This article provides comprehensive information about quality codes in the context of the WinCC archive database, which should be relevant for your VB Script/VBA application.
