WinCC V5.1 - "Configured server is not available" Error

Dear User,

The "Configured server is not available" error in WinCC V5.1 typically indicates a communication issue between your client computers and the WinCC server. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Server Status: Verify the WinCC server service is running on the server machine.
  2. Network Connectivity: Ensure all clients and the server are on the same network and can ping each other using IP addresses.
  3. Firewall: Check firewall settings on both the server and client machines. WinCC communication ports (e.g., 80, 443, and specific runtime ports) must be open.
  4. Server Configuration: In the WinCC server configuration, confirm the correct IP address and hostname are configured.
  5. Name Resolution: Verify that DNS resolution is working correctly, or use the server's IP address directly in the client configuration.
  6. Project Settings: Double-check the project settings on the clients to ensure they are pointing to the correct server IP address or hostname.

If the problem persists, please provide details like the network configuration and specific error messages for further assistance.

Sincerely,
