SIMATIC WinCC (TIA Portal): Kp300 Continuous Increment/decrement Including Fkeys

I have two function keys assigned to increment and decrement an Integer tag.
Is there a function available that will continuously change the tag while the key is held pressed down and stop changing when the key is released.

Continuous Tag Modification with Held Function Keys

Yes, Siemens HMIs support continuous tag modification while a function key is held down. This is achieved using the "Hold Time" or "Repeat Rate" settings within the key's configuration.

How to Configure:

  1. In WinCC (TIA Portal), navigate to the HMI screen and select the function key.
  2. In the function key's properties, locate the "Hold Time" or "Repeat Rate" parameter.
  3. Set a value for this parameter (e.g., 200ms - 500ms). This determines how quickly the tag will be incremented/decremented while the key is pressed.
  4. Ensure the "Continuous activation" option is enabled.

Important Considerations:

  • Adjust the "Hold Time/Repeat Rate" to achieve the desired speed of change.
  • Consider the process limitations and avoid exceeding safe operating ranges.
