Communication / Networks: profiSAFE F_source_add modification

Hi there,
We are working with S7 F/FH Systems: Step 7 v5.6, S7 F Systems v6.1, CFC v9.0 and we are trying to configure Profisafe communications between the S7 F Systems and a Phoenix Contact Safe Profinet Gateway.
At Phoenix Contact Safe Profinet Gateway level:
The safe PROFINET gateway checks the values of F-Addresses and only accepts F-Addresses for safety-related operation which satisfy the following conditions:
– F_Dest_Add (PROFINET system 1) ≠ F_Dest_Add (PROFINET system 2)
– F_Source_Add (PROFINET system 1) ≠ F_Source_Add (PROFINET system 2)
As both the PROFINET Systems (1 and 2) are S7 F Systems, we need to change the F_Source_Add of at least one of the two F systems.
But in S7 F/FH Systems – Configuring and Programming documentation, it is written:
The F_source_address is automatically assigned in S7 F Systems and is preset with the value "1".
So do you know if there any way to change this parameter with Step 7 ?
Many thanks!!

Profisafe Communication with Phoenix Contact Gateway - F_Source_Add Modification

You are correct to point out the discrepancy between the Phoenix Contact requirement for unique F_Source_Add values and the Step 7 documentation stating that the F_Source_Address is automatically assigned as "1" in S7 F Systems.

Unfortunately, you cannot directly modify the F_Source_Add parameter in Step 7 for S7 F Systems. It is a fixed value assigned internally by the system.

However, a workaround involves utilizing a separate PROFINET interface on each S7 F system to establish communication with the Phoenix Contact gateway. By using different interfaces, each system will inherently have a distinct F_Source_Add from the gateway's perspective, satisfying the Phoenix Contact requirement.
