Closing Faceplates in WinCC Unified

The approach of setting a faceplate object (po) to undefined after calling Close() is generally not reliable for ensuring the faceplate is completely closed and its resources released in WinCC Unified.

Instead, consider these methods:

  • Use the Destroy() method: This is the recommended way to completely remove a faceplate instance.
  • Event Handling: Utilize events (like the OnClose event of the faceplate) to manage cleanup and resource release.

For more detailed information and best practices, please refer to the following resources on SiePortal:

Please note that improper faceplate closing can lead to memory leaks and performance issues. Always ensure proper resource management.
