Does anyone know if it is possible to have an absolute encoder function as a incremental with a parameter change. Specifically the application involves a clutch that disengages the load when a torque limit is reached. At this point the load and motor could be in different positions. When the clutch is reengaged the motor would need to match the load position or be homed. Homing and reseting the reference can not be done with an absolute encoder.
