LOGO! - Projects: Assistance needed: Alternating two pumps Within Siemens Logic module Soft Comfort

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to create a simple program in Siemens LOGO! Soft Comfort where two pumps alternate automatically.
The idea is:
Every time there's a new demand (e.g. a start signal from a sensor or button), only one pump should start.
The pumps should alternate with each new request, so both are used evenly over time.
Could someone help me implement this correctly in LOGO! Soft Comfort? Or provide a working example of such logic?
Thanks in advance!

Alternating Pump Control in LOGO! Soft Comfort

Here's how to implement alternating pump control in LOGO! Soft Comfort. The core idea uses a Flip-Flop (SR latch) to toggle between pumps on each demand signal.

Logic Explanation:

  1. Demand Signal: An input signal triggering a pump start request.
  2. Flip-Flop: Implemented using Setand Resetcoils. The 'S' coil activates Pump 1, and the 'R' coil activates Pump 2.
  3. Alternation: Each time the demand signal is active, the Flip-Flop toggles. This means if Pump 1 was on, the next demand activates Pump 2, and vice-versa.

Implementation Steps in LOGO! Soft Comfort:

  1. Create two network outputs for Pump 1 and Pump 2.
  2. Use an input as the 'Demand' signal.
  3. Implement the Flip-Flop logic: Connect the 'Demand' signal to both the 'Set' coil for Pump 1 *and* the 'Reset' coil for Pump 2, and vice versa. This ensures mutual exclusion and alternation.
  4. Consider adding interlocks (e.g., manual override, fault detection) for robust operation.
