SCR Replacement in S7-1200

The S7-1200 does not directly use Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs). SCRs were more common in older Siemens PLCs like the S7-300. In the S7-1200, SCR functionality is typically replaced by using Power Modules in conjunction with the PLC's digital outputs.

Specifically, you would use a SIRIUS 3RF23 relay module or a SIRIUS 3RW30 solid-state relay to achieve similar control functionality (switching AC loads) as an SCR. These offer advantages like greater flexibility, diagnostics, and protection.

Key Considerations:

• Load Type: Resistive, inductive, or capacitive loads will influence module selection.
• Voltage & Current: Choose a module rated for your application’s voltage and current requirements.
