LOGO! - Projects: Total Duration

Hello, I am trying to write a program so that I can see how long a machine is shut off. Everytimethe operatorhits an E-Stop I send a signal to an input on my logo.
I would like to be able to see in minutes and seconds the total time for adays worth of productionthat the E-Stop was engaged.
Thank you for your help.

E-Stop Monitoring with LOGO!

Monitoring E-Stop Duration with Siemens LOGO!

You can achieve E-Stop monitoring with your LOGO! by utilizing its timing functions and network capabilities.

Implementation Steps:

  1. Input Detection: Configure your LOGO! input to reliably detect the E-Stop signal.
  2. Timer Function: Use a pulse timer (TP) block. The input signal from the E-Stop activates the timer.
  3. Accumulation: Accumulate the timer values for a day's production. Use a counter (CTU or CTD) to sum the pulse timer outputs.
  4. Display/Network Output: Output the accumulated time (in seconds) to a display or via network (e.g., Modbus TCP) to a HMI or SCADA system for conversion to minutes and seconds.

Resources:

Important Note: Consider using a power-off retention memory (if available in your LOGO! version) to preserve the accumulated time across power cycles.
