Process Instrumentation / Analyzer Systems / Weighing Technology / Valve Positioner / MI Digital Solution: Question regarding Sipart Ps2

Positioner
Hi,
This are probably 2 different things:
Error 1 indicates that there is a remaining control deviation.
This most time caused by actuator trouble, maybe a zero point shifting.
Please check also if the friction clutch is fixed properly.
Interesting would be at which position this error comes up, at the end positions or over the complete range.
The oscillating around the setpoint indicate, that probably your movement is to fast or your actuator too small for the amount of air.
You should use the internal restrictor and reduce the air that your actuator movement 0-100% is >1,5 second. This can be easily checked during Initialization at "RUN 3", the times will be shown at the display.
Parameter "DEBA" should be fix on 0.2-0.3, not on Auto. This will help the accuracy during a "nervous" process.

Hello Sir,Have a good day.I have recently facing problem in a newly buying Siemens PS2(2wire, 4-20ma, 2 wire, without HART) smart positioner connect with my existing Single acting, air to open linear actuator(pneumatic control valve) having 20mm stroke when I am going to newly calibation.During commissioning this new positioner with existing control valve/actuator in initial condition its display shows P 85 and NOINI mode, at that time when if i press (+) and (-) button then the actuatortotally doesn’t not move.only small clicking sound hearing inside the positioner and little air Release from actuating pressure line(Y1) of positioner , however pneumatic(4kg air pressure) and electrical(4ma , 24VDc) connection is ok there. Interesting matter is, if i place old existing positioner there then it easily move the actuator after pressing (+) and (- ) key in P85, NOINI mode. Is there any problem of lever setting or restrictor setting there.i don’t change any restrictor setting in this newly buying positioner during commissioning there.i am confused if there any setting required in restrictor at positioner during newly commissioning?
I apreciating if anybody here who can advice me kindly please to fix this problem.

Siemens PS2 Positioner Troubleshooting - Calibration Issue

Based on your description, the issue with the new Siemens PS2 positioner likely relates to insufficient actuator response time or incorrect initial settings.

Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

Error P85 & NOINI Mode - Actuator Not Moving

  • Actuator Response Time: The new positioner may require a slower actuator movement than your existing setup. Adjust the internal restrictor to ensure the 0-100% actuator movement takes >1.5 seconds. This can be checked during Initialization at "RUN 3".
  • DEBA Parameter: Set the "DEBA" parameter to a fixed value between 0.2-0.3. Avoid using "Auto" as it can cause instability.
  • Lever Setting: While you haven't changed it, double-check the lever connection between the positioner and actuator. Ensure it's properly installed and aligned.
  • Control Deviation: The error might indicate a remaining control deviation. This could be due to issues with the actuator itself, like a zero-point shift or a stuck friction clutch.

Further Investigation

Determine if the issue occurs throughout the entire range of motion or only at the end positions. This will help pinpoint the cause.
